Especially, the Hexagonal Socket screws have been widely used which are made from carbon steel in grade 8.8, grade 10.9, grade 12.9 and stainless steel in 300 series, with the head type of flat head, countersunk head, round head, headless (Set screws), and etc.

 

Non-magnetic fasteners offer the solutions for very extensive applications mainly where magnetic “interference” needs to be avoided or requires very low magnetic permeability. Therefore, with its non-magnetic characteristics, these fasteners are quite suited for precision instrument manufacturing Industry, especially for high-end imaging equipment, such as MRI’s, CT machines, etc.

 

Quality policy for Non-magnetic fasteners at Vanku:


1: Austenitic stainless steel as a basis of the raw material has been chosen

Austenitic stainless steel serves basic non-magnetic fasteners needs as only austenitic steel is non-magnetic/ weakly magnetic but, on the other hand, martensitic and ferritic stainless steel surely contain magnetic properties.

2: High-quality raw material from reliable large-scale suppliers

Small steel factories are difficult to guarantee its products quality due to the factors of technicity and equipment capabilities, furthermore, both composition segregation and improper heat treatment during smelting will also make the austenite can be converted to martensite or ferrite, which are both magnetic.

3:  High-temperature Solution Treatment

 

When stainless steel fasteners are cold worked or welded, or exposed to very low temperatures, they may develop magnetic response. Cold work can transform some austenite to martensite, and with the increase of shaping and forming of steel to form fasteners, it can lead to higher levels of magnetism. Electromagnetic Demagnetizing has been taken for magnetic cleaning as a consideration, however, it can’t completely remove magnetic radically as it hasn’t changed the compositions. Besides, only tempered via solution heat treatment to soften the steel to reduce cold work also can’t achieve demagnetization as the processes used in forming fasteners are very well ending up with bolts or screws that are still magnetic.

 

It is the policy of Vanku Industry Group to strive for strict Quality Control through the Quality Management System, with high quality raw material being selected from large-scale corporations, high-temperature solution treatment in the vacuum heat treatment furnace will be conducted by heating the products to 1050℃, the finished fasteners also should be quenched after these processes to reduce magnetic properties. In this way, a 100% non-magnetic product can be created.
